Lunigiana Amica is a non-profit association that is currently joining 127 small and micro businesses active in the rural district of Lunigiana, Tuscany, Italy, mainly from agro-industry and agro-tourism. Its current partners are the only members of Lunigiana Amica’s General Assembly and Management Board; local public administrations support the association financially with voluntary contributions.

The 5th Ministerial Declaration on eGovernment - approved unanimously in Malmö, Sweden, on 18th November 2009 – invites the EU Member States to “actively seek collaboration with third parties, for example businesses, civil society or individual citizens, in order to develop user-driven eGovernment services”. As a matter of fact, the current levels of take-up of eGovernment services in Europe remain extremely low and this hampers the progress towards efficiency and customer focus of public administration.

Torre Guaceto Living Lab: the living lab in the Natural Reserve

The Torre Guaceto LL has been started in 2007 in order to develop a MEMORY system to support participatory practice in the Natural Reserve of Torre Guaceto, a wet-land in Puglia, a Eastern region in southern Italy. The TG_LL can be described as a territorial LL and is technologically characterized by the development and use of a Memory Support System (MEMENTO) assisting the process of spatial governance in the Natural Reserve.

The eToscana initiative is an integrated eGovernance strategy deriving from the Regional Government’s official plan for the establishment of an Information Society in Tuscany that was launched in 2003 and is supported by Regional Law No. 1/2004. It has mobilised, networked and is currently serving:

•    All Municipalities and public sector authorities/agencies of the region and particularly about 90.000 public employees

•    About 32.000 citizens (out of a 3,6 million population)
